What is Vastu-Shastra?

Vastu Shastra is an ancient system of architecture that integrates natural elements and directional alignments to promote balance, harmony, and well-being. Rooted in Vedic traditions, it focuses on optimizing spatial arrangement to enhance energy flow and prosperity.


Elements of Vastu Shastra:

Vastu could be a science of direction that mixes the 5 parts of nature and cosmos, ultimately reconciliation with man. And also the material. This mysterious science unifying the 5 parts referred to as ‘Panchbhootas’- earth, fire, water, sky, and area and paving how for enlightenment, happiness, and prosperity.

Vastu combines the five fundamental elements of nature:

  • Earth (Prithvi): Stability and strength
  • Water (Jal): Flow and flexibility
  • Fire (Agni): Energy and transformation
  • Air (Vayu): Movement and freshness
  • Space (Akash): Expansion and connectivity

By balancing these five elements we can harness their true potential and bring prosperity in our life. The science of balancing these five elements in our life and use them for our betterment is called VASTU.

Basic Vastu Tips for Home

1. Plot and Layout

Prefer square or rectangular plots. A northeast slope and entrance are considered auspicious, allowing sunlight and positive energy to flow in naturally.

2. Living Room

Place the living room in the north, east, or northeast for better social harmony and a welcoming environment.

3. Bedroom

Ideally located in the southwest or south. Avoid placing your head towards the north while sleeping; the south is preferred for longevity.

4. Kitchen

The southeast corner (Agni Kon) is ideal for kitchens. Avoid placing kitchens directly under or above bedrooms or bathrooms.
